The writing in Ooblets is probably the best part of the game – it ranges from satirical to witty to randomly hilarious, and it’s fantastic at every turn. Sometimes you’ll feel heard, sometimes you’ll feel supported, sometimes you’ll feel yourself smiling wryly. It’s a nice mixture of eat the rich and whimsical randomness. VisualsĮverything is absolutely adorable in Ooblets – the Ooblets themselves, the clothing you and the Ooblets can wear, the illustrations for the cards – everything is fantastic. My particular favorites are the up-too-late music (a variant of the morning music) and the new music created for the final laps of the story. Good vibing all around. A good way to raise friendship levels is to listen to the Hankerbot's suggestions every day once you unlock it, you can also complete tasks that they ask you to do.As a dance battle game, you’d hope the music that blasts while doing said dancing is good, or at the very least tolerable. While it can get a little droning if the battle goes on long enough, the battle music mixes up not only the song but genre for each battle, and pumps out the beats to groove your way to victory. The music that goes on outside of battles is even better. If you have Arah's printypress set up you can obtain 'friendship stickers' from characters you have strong bonds with, and your friends will also give you gifts in the form of Ooblets accessories, gummies, and other helpful items. Regularly interacting with them will cause your friendship bonds to skyrocket in no time. There are so many non playable characters waiting to be your friend! Go up and talk to them. Wishies can be spent at the wishy well to purchase upgrades and every important resource in the game, you'll want to keep a supply of those on you. Make sure to check them every day, because some days you can land a whole lot of wishies for doing the bare minimum. These tasks can range from speaking to a specific non-playable character to finding a rare Gleamy Ooblet. You won't regret it!Įvery day you'll be blessed with three ways to earn 5, 10, and 20 wishies. Take some time, listen to the tunes, and just stroll through that vibrant town every once in a while. There are a bunch of plants you can pick for future tasks, cool ooblets to check out, and a bunch of random items you can find hidden inside houses and in weird nooks and crannies. It's good to get in the habit of walking around all of Badgetown (and Mamoonia) at least once a day.
